We’re building our fourth villa in Bali.
They’re great for passive income. However, in this villa, we’d like to live ourselves.
So, Mariska has an ambitious plan.
She wants to have a vegetable garden.
“Is it possible to plant vegetables?” Mariska asks the gardener.
“Yeah, no problem.” “I’ll plant something right here. No problem.”
It’s funny how, in Bali, people often end a sentence with: “No problem.” When Balinese people say “no problem,” they often mean:
“I have no clue, so I say ‘No problem’ to make you happy.”
Without any expectations, we came back a few days later to check how the builders were doing.
“Look. Here are your vegetables.” The Gardener said. ” We have eggplant, a banana tree, and Moringa.)”
(a delicious Balinese herb used in soups and tea.)
“But you need to give the plants love. Otherwise, they won’t grow.”
The same goes for your business.
When you don’t have clear goals, your business will never grow.
Let’s examine how you can set a goal and take action. I always start with the end in mind.
Let’s say you’d like to earn 100K a year. This can be quite overwhelming, right?
To break it down, you must ask yourself: What do I need to reach X?
Let’s break it down:
To earn 100K a year, what do you need? You need to sell a course.
To sell a course, what do you need? You need an audience.
To build an audience, what do you need? You need to improve your writing.
Let’s make it actionable for you:
- Set one big goal.
- Ask yourself: What must I do to reach X?
- Keep asking the question until you reach your starting point.
- Plan your action steps with daily goals.
- Take action.
By doing this exercise, you’ll understand the primary steps. In this case, you need to start by building your audience.
How do you build an audience? By becoming a better writer.
